Villa St 'Angelo is located in an elevated position directly above the historic and beautiful town of Tropea and in the region of Calabria in Italy.
Calabria is known by the English as 'The toe of Italy' and as such enjoys very sunny climates: indeed Calabria is the heart of the Mezzogiorno (the Italian for midday and referring to the baking sunshine in which the region basks.) Bordered on all its sides by beautiful oceans, Calabria offers a wealth of fantastic, white, sandy beaches with emerald and turquoise coloured seas depending on the time of year in which your holiday is taken.
Tropea is one of Calabria's prettiest towns and is steeped in history, with accompanying places of interest to visit. Indeed, if history is to be believed, Tropea was founded by the ancient hero Hercules and you will still find over 50 nobleman's palaces and 17 churches. Perhaps the most breath-taking of all is the imposing sand stone church on a rocky outcrop jutting into the sea.
Villa St 'Angelo enjoys panoramic views of the sea from its pretty garden and has clear sight of the Aeolian Islands. On a clear day, all 5 islands are visible, but frequently Stromboli and Lipari are visible and most picturesque at sunset.
The villa offers an outside covered eating terrace and barbeque for alfresco dining but also a small dining area off the galley kitchen. The kitchen is fully equipped with an oven and hob, washing machine, double fridges, a full range of catering and dining implements - making dining at home both easy and often desirable when wishing to sample the region's culinary specialities.
A spacious sitting room, with TV and CD players, make daytimes and evenings comfortable for relaxation, reading and card playing.
Bedroom accommodation comprises of two double rooms and another room with bunk beds. The villa comfortably sleeps 6 people. All bedding and bath towels are provided, but please bring your own beach towels.
There is one bathroom, and two shower rooms (one en-suite from the master bedroom).
There is ample room for a car in the villa's driveway. Car hire is a necessity in order to reach a variety of beaches within 10 minutes and Tropea within 5 minutes.
